Xiaomi phone user's recently get an update of MIUI 9, If you update your phone and don't like MIUI 9 on your phone and want to Downgrade MIUI 9 to MIUI 8 then you are at the right place. This guide is on how to easily downgrade MIUI 9 to MIUI 8 or you can say revert back to MIUI 8 from MIUI 9. Officially MIUI 9 is available for most of devices and comes with some improvements and new features. But many user's don't like MIUI 9. Devices on which this work's are Redmi 1s, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3s/Prime, Redmi 4, Redmi 4a, Redmi Note 4G, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi 6, Mi Max, Max 2 etc.Note:- Read all steps carefully and follow step by step and first of all take backup of your phone.
Lock Bootloader Method.
- Download MIUI 8 Recovery Rom for your phone.
- Save this MIUI 8 recovery file in internal storage.
- Now open updater and tap on three dots at top right corner.
- Here select the MIUI 8 zip and press OK to start flashing the ROM.
- Now your smartphone automatically reboot and the installation process will start.
- Once the MIUI 8 is successfully install in your device, your phone automatically boot.
Rooted Phone Method.
- Download the MIUI 8 Recovery Rom.
- Save the zip file in internal storage of your device.
- Now boot your device in TWRP Recovery Mode. To do this press volume up and power button at the same time.
- Once you are in TWRP recovery, Go to wipe ->advance wipe and select Dalvik, Cache, System and data then swipe to wipe.
- Now go back to the home of TWRP and tap on install and select the MIUI 8 zip and flash.
- After flashing the MIUI 8 zip reboot your device.
This method is for rooted devices.
